Donations & Membership

Membership entitles you to a reduced registration fee for the SAP annual conference. It allows each member to participate in the society’s activities by taking part in votes for the renewal of the Administrative Committee and in votes at the General Assembly (held annually during the conference, at the end of January). Members are regularly informed of the society’s activities and news in anthropology in France and abroad (contracts, conferences, etc.).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is membership automatically renewable?

No, membership is not automatically renewed. You will receive an email reminder before the expiration date to renew your membership.

How do I resign from the SAP?

To resign from the SAP, simply send an email to the following address: secretairegeneral@sapweb.fr, also copying tresorerie@sapweb.fr.

In your message, simply indicate that you wish to terminate your membership.

We thank you for notifying us as soon as possible: this information is very useful for the administrative management of the association and allows the treasurer not to unnecessarily follow up with individuals who do not wish to renew their membership.

Do donations qualify for a tax deduction?

Yes. Membership in the SAP may qualify for a tax credit of 66% of the annual membership fee amount.

It is important to note that this is indeed a tax credit, not simply a tax deduction. The difference is significant: a tax deduction only reduces the amount of tax owed, whereas a tax credit can be refunded even if you are not subject to taxation.

Thus, a non-taxable individual who is a member of the SAP and who declares their membership to the tax administration may receive a payment from the Treasury corresponding to 66% of the amount of their annual membership.
